  • IPL is used to treat a number of different skin concerns including wrinkles, large pores, dull skin, fine lines, pigmentation, skin damage, and acne scaring. Due to the wide variety of concerns it targets, it can be used by just about anyone. However, as the photo-rejuvenation machine targets pigment, it’s best suited to those with lighter skin tones.

  • We recommend returning for maintenance treatments every 6-12 months. This will allow us to target any new areas of concern and refresh the results we have achieved.

  • • Stop using AHA/BHA’s and Retinols 7 days before treatment
    • ABSOLUTELY NO TANNING. Avoid being in the sun 2-4 weeks prior to your appointment
    • No tanning products or spray tan 14 days prior to treatment.
    • Protect exposed areas with and SPF 30 or higher before and during your treatment series. You must continue to wear SPF 30+ daily year round to prevent hyperpigmentation
    • You are not pregnant
    • You are not taking photo sensitive medications, or previously in the last 3 months
    • If you have a history of cold sores close to the area being treated, it is recommended that you take antiviral medication before the treatment (This will be available from the chemist).

  • • After your IPL treatment, your skin will feel warm to the touch and will look like it has been exposed to the sun; temporary redness (lasting 1-2 days), mild to moderate swelling (1-3 days) and some temporary pigment darkening with superficial crusting and scabbing (5-10 days). You may also experience swelling. THIS IS NORMAL. If you started out with discoloration, your brown spots will appear darker for 5-10 days, in which they may appear scabby and/or crusty. Do not pick or exfoliate these “Milo” looking spots, as you can leave the area hypopigmented.
